Assistant Vice President, Business Analyst
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Vice President, Business Analysis to lead business analysis and project delivery for key technology initiatives, including the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), process improvement, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven transformation. The AVP will play a pivotal role in shaping business and technology alignment, driving operational efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making. This role also involves project management responsibilities and supervision of junior Business Analysts, ensuring consistent delivery quality and adherence to project governance standards.
Job Description
Business Analysis & Innovation
- Develop comprehensive business and functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct detailed business process reviews to identify pain points and improvement opportunities across departments.
- Champion innovation through the use of Generative AI , RPA , and low-code platforms to automate manual processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Work with data teams to define data quality rules, business KPIs, and analytics requirements for the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Data & Reporting
Work with data engineers and business users to define reporting and dashboard requirements.Assist in profiling data and data quality rules for enterprise data warehouse initiatives.Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities
Lead and oversee business analysis activities for enterprise-level IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements.Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Business Analysts, establishing best practices and quality standards in documentation and stakeholder management.Serve as the bridge between business units, IT, and vendors, translating business needs into actionable system and process solutions.Project Management & Delivery
Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders.Oversee project progress, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.Prepare and present project updates, dashboards, and reports to management and steering committees.Qualification & Requirement
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field.5+ years of experience as in business analysis, preferably in insurance / reinsurance, financial services, or a regulated environment.Understanding of business processes in insurance / reinsurance is advantageous.Experience in managing IT or transformation projects in the insurance or financial services industry.Strong understanding of business processes in insurance (underwriting, claims, finance, reinsurance, or operations).Seniority level
