Field Application Engineer

Job descriptionInterface directly with all Future’s customers and all levels of staff and Management within Future. Represent Future's interests at all technical levels, providing support to ensure customers identify Future with their projects, increasing the probability of winning opportunities Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, and Suppliers to identify ideal products and target markets, then promote products to customers through application examples, demonstrations, and design-ins Maintain accurate customer information on the technical CRM database to ensure all opportunities are successfully tracked Perform associative selling by designing in as many devices as possible to capture the most components within the Bill of Materials (BOM) Assist in maintaining manufacturer design registration schemes to secure Future's commercial position within the customer base and ensure eligibility for design incentive bonuses Provide training to Future's sales force and product marketing teams to enhance their technical product and application knowledge A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering is required Requires deep technical competency and knowledge of devices within a specific focus area, such as Analog & Linear, Micro-controller, Power Discrete, or Design At least 2 years of design experience with products in a specialized product category Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently present ideas to customer engineers and technical managers Commercial awareness, with an understanding of how design decisions impact a customer's profitability A strong sense of urgency and commitment to meeting response times Proficient in allocating personal resources and preparing budgetary proposals and quotations Skilled in selecting and specifying devices for designs Capable of optimizing limited company resources (e.g., deciding on the allocation of evaluation and demonstration tools) Willing to escalated issues that are beyond the FAE's scope of influence, providing internal and external support as needed
We're looking for a skilled Field Application Engineer / Senior Field Application Engineer to serve as a key technical advisor for our customers. In this role, you will leverage on the design experience and in-depth product knowledge from our franchised manufacturers to provide innovative application and design solutions. You will drive a 'Systems Solution' approach when promoting products and solutions to Future’s customers, with the goal of maximizing product offerings from Future's extensive line-card.
Departmental Context
The FAE teams are organized where possible into focus groups. The four focus business groups are :
- Analog & Linear
- Passive & Electro-Mechanical (EMECH) products
These groupings allow the FAEs to specialize on a product area, whilst still working as part of an overall team. By specializing, the FAEs can combine their design experience with the knowledge gained through training, enabling them to add value to our customer’s design process.
