Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead the full design lifecycle—from concept development to construction documentation and final handover. This role oversees multidisciplinary design teams, ensures technical excellence, manages stakeholder expectations, and drives design compliance, quality, and efficiency across all project stages.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Leadership & Strategy

Lead and manage the overall design development across architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines.
Establish design strategies, standards, and workflows to ensure timely and accurate design delivery.
Drive design excellence through innovative solutions, value engineering, and technical optimization.

2. Coordination & Integration

Manage coordination between consultants, internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of all design elements.

Review and approve design drawings, technical submissions, BIM models, specifications, and calculations.

Facilitate design workshops, technical reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.

3. Project Management

Develop and manage the design programme, ensuring deliverables align with project schedules.

Monitor design progress and identify risks, constraints, and potential clashes early.

Ensure design deliverables meet contractual obligations, project goals, and compliance requirements.

4. Technical Oversight & Quality Control

Review technical proposals, constructability assessments, and shop drawings for accuracy and feasibility.

Ensure all design outputs meet statutory regulations, authority requirements, and project specifications.

Oversee design changes, maintain version control, and ensure clarity between design intent and construction execution.

5. Stakeholder & Client Management

Serve as the primary design liaison with clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders.

Present design solutions, progress updates, and technical clarifications to the client and project leadership.

Ensure client expectations are understood, managed, and met throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead, guide, and mentor design coordinators, engineers, and junior design staff.

Enforce strong design governance, best practices, and continuous improvement within the team.

Support talent development and build design capabilities across the organisation.

7. Construction Support

Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs, site queries, and resolving design issues.

Review site conditions, identify design‑construction gaps, and support testing & commissioning readiness.

Ensure final design documentation is complete for handover.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent.

with strong exposure to large-scale projects (data centres, commercial buildings, industrial, or infrastructure).

Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and complex project coordination.

Strong understanding of design standards, building codes, and authority submission requirements.

Proficiency in BIM coordination processes (Revit, Navisworks) is a strong advantage.

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple design packages simultaneously.
