Your Mission
The Payroll Project Technical Lead works closely with the Global Payroll Project Manager, Payroll Project Coordinator and PMO Officer to focus on the technical implementation aspect of the project. This role serves as the technical bridge between vendors, internal country payroll teams, business units, and the external payroll and HR service provider at both country and central levels.
The Payroll Project Technical Lead is responsible for reviewing and documenting technical setup gaps during implementation, managing technical review (blueprint) setup with the vendor, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and parallel run validations between Guthrie and the payroll vendor. In cases of escalation, the Payroll Project Technical Lead will promptly inform the Global Payroll Project Manager to ensure timely resolution and project continuity. The technical scope includes integration, SAP S / 4HANA, Workday, and vendor systems.
Your Role
Discovery Phase
- Involved in the local kick-off calls with country teams and vendors.
- Serve as Project team SME for technical aspects of data collection clarification sessions.
- Ensure alignment on technical project scope with the overall country project implementation timeline.
- Review foundational setup with vendors and internal teams from Workday and SAP for each country (or business units if required).
- Work with country payroll teams on payroll and HR requirements documentation required by the vendor.
- Review technical templates and documentation.
System Configuration and Integration Phase
Assist in mapping fields and validating transformation rules.Track and escalate issues related to integration errors and work closely with Workday, SAP S / 4HANA, internal teams, consultants, payroll vendor and the project coordinator.Coordinate with local HR, Workday and SAP S / 4HANA teams to execute unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).Draft scenarios and test cases to ensure testing closure and identify gaps for integration and system setup.Ensure timely resolution of issues raised during testing.Track signed-off payroll and HR configurations.Participate in parallel runs, ensuring data is sent between systems and coordinating with Workday, SAP S / 4HANA, external vendors and internal IT teams.Review technical payroll output results with the vendor, local HR, and internal teams.Review sample payslips and reports provided by the vendor.Coordinate penny test file validation.Provide input from a technical perspective during sign-off of each parallel run and prepare for Go / No-Go decisions.Go-Live Month and Stabilisation
Support final payroll data submission to the vendor.Collaborate with local HR in using the vendor’s tools.Provide ongoing technical support during this phase.Ensure all required documentation is provided to the PMO Officer.Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a related field.Strong technical knowledge (5 years’ experience) in integration for Workday (PECi or PICOF) and SAP S / 4HANA, plus 3rd party payroll vendor integration.Demonstrated experience in 2 cycles of Workday and / or SAP S / 4HANA implementation with a payroll vendor.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into system configurations.Proficiency in data management and reporting, particularly reading payroll reports.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Why Join Us?
