Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor Butterworth
Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited, is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. SDM focuses on understanding client requirements and offers affordable financial solutions such as funeral insurance, education savings, life cover and personal accident plans. SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster within the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster.
Purpose of the role
- To promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM)’s products and increase market share through providing sound financial advice and a high level of client service in a Branch context.
- Creating opportunities for client optimisation and cross selling of value-added services.
Key Responsibilities
To promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM)’s products and increase market share through providing sound financial advice and a high level of client service in a Branch context.Creating opportunities for client optimisation and cross selling of value-added services.Sales deliveryGain and maintain an in-depth understanding of SRM product ranges.Understand customer needs, financial goals and means, and provide the right product (or selection of products) to satisfy goals in the most affordable way.Continuously update and inform customers of new products or changes; manage, review and incorporate implications of product changes on the customer’s portfolio.Validate client details in line with product and regulatory requirements. Submit new business through the right channels.Conduct due diligence on clients to identify and flag risks.Manage own capacity to ensure daily appointments are prioritised while allowing time for walk-in / non-appointment clients.In-branch client service and client retention; service and manage all client profiles to keep clients on the books.Send payment reminders, conduct follow-ups, address queries, and provide support.Manage and report on NTUs (Not Taken Up) by implementing controls and taking corrective actions where required.Manage persistency of client payments in favor of both the branch and the client.Gain insight into client risk profiles to proactively identify where support is required.Consult with clients on alternative payment arrangements and ensure processing and recording on the right platforms.In-branch servicing in line with client experience standards : guide clients through policy cancellations and provide alternatives.Resolve client queries in-branch or escalate as needed, with follow-up feedback to the client.Quality, compliance and continuous development : stay up to date with compliance, maintain CPD, identify risks and flag potential fraud, keep and store records of advice, log activities per regulations, and provide data for reporting and decision-making.Monthly planning and reporting : report activities daily via relevant technology platforms and collate data for weekly and monthly reports; perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)RE5 advantageousFAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirementsClass of Business training (to be completed within 12 months of employment)Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge : client service; sales and cross-selling tactics; familiarity with the insurance landscape and regulatory requirements; knowledge of insurance products is advantageous.Experience : 1 year in a sales or marketing role; experience within insurance branches is advantageous.Skills and Competencies
