LAB OPERATOR

Function & Primary Responsibilities

Online Testing : The operator is responsible for collecting samples from the supply tank at compounding and the dipping tank at production to verify that online parameters meet specifications. This includes proper handling and retention of test samples. The operator prepares and performs tests for bricking / blocking, moisture, foaming, and powder content. Any abnormal results must be communicated immediately to the team leader or supervisor. A key duty is conducting tensile strength testing according to standard methods to ensure product quality.

Wastewater Testing : The operator conducts tests on wastewater, such as pH, COD, TSS, and other relevant parameters as per SOP, and is responsible for documenting and reporting these results.

General Duties : The operator must maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with 5S and EHS guidelines. This includes following all implemented procedures, ensuring data integrity, and participating in training, audits, and continuous improvement programs. A critical duty is the proper disposal of waste according to its classification (scheduled or general) in compliance with company procedures and regulations, including the safe handling and disposal of broken glass.

Skills

Skills : Required skills include the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Basic computer skills, specifically data entry in Microsoft Excel, are needed. The operator must have good communication and teamwork skills, a strong attention to detail, and accuracy in recording data. The ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision is also essential.

Education

Education : The minimum education requirement is SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) or above.

Experience

Experience : Previous experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment is considered an added advantage but is not strictly required.
