The Head of Commercial reports to the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (EVP / CFO) and is responsible for overseeing all revenue‑related and market‑facing functions of the airline, including sales, marketing, pricing, revenue management, network planning, distribution, analytics, and commercial partnerships. The role ensures the development, execution, and optimization of Cayman Airways’ commercial strategy to deliver sustainable revenue growth, enhance the customer experience, and strengthen the airline’s competitive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the airline’s integrated commercial strategy, encompassing sales, marketing, revenue management, network planning, and distribution.
- Oversee all revenue‑generating activities, including pricing, inventory control, and yield management, ensuring performance meets or exceeds budget‑based targets.
- Direct the planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance monitoring of the Commercial Department, including resource allocation and workforce planning.
- Oversee network planning and route development including route performance analysis, interline and code‑share partnerships, and route‑opening / closure recommendations.
- Guide the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies across digital, direct, trade, public relations, advertising, and sponsorship channels.
- Lead sales and distribution initiatives, ensuring the airline maximizes exposure and sales through global distribution systems, direct channels, and trade networks.
- Oversee the development and execution of consumer and trade promotions in key markets to stimulate demand and support revenue goals.
- Direct market research and analytics, leveraging insights to drive commercial decision‑making and identify emerging business opportunities.
- Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities including new routes, commercial partnerships, and ancillary revenue streams.
- Foster a high‑performance culture within the Commercial Department by coaching and developing leaders, establishing clear goals, and encouraging collaboration.
- Represent the airline in external forums, maintaining strategic relationships with key partners and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation across all commercial operations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Tertiary level education in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field.Minimum 15 years’ experience in the airline or travel industry with proven commercial results.At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for commercial performance.Strong command of route development, network planning, and airline partnerships.Demonstrated success in developing and leading multi‑channel revenue strategies.Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.Exceptional interpersonal and leadership abilities.Proven experience in change management and performance‑driven cultures.Strong working knowledge of airline distribution systems, pricing platforms, and digital tools.Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Must be detail‑oriented and possess strong organizational and time‑management skills.Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline‑driven environment.Cayman Airways offers an excellent compensation package.
