About the role
The Planner - Retail is responsible for analyzing sales data, market trends, and inventory levels to develop effective retail strategies. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure product availability, optimize inventory levels, and support the overall sales objectives of the company.
Reporting to the Manager - Planning, you will be responsible for :
Responsibilities
- Sales and Inventory Analysis : Analyze sales data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities; monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels; forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.
- Reporting and Data Management : Create and maintain reports on sales performance, inventory status, and other key metrics; provide actionable insights based on data analysis to support decision-making.
- Planning and Forecasting : Develop sales forecasts and inventory plans; collaborate with merchandising and buying teams to plan product assortments and stock levels; monitor and adjust plans based on sales performance and market trends.
- Market Research : Conduct market research to understand customer preferences and market trends; analyze competitor strategies and performance.
- Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with the merchandising, buying, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of strategies; communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Systems and Tools : Utilize planning and forecasting tools and systems to manage inventory and sales data; maintain data integrity and accuracy in all systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Retail Management, or a related field preferredPrevious experience in retail planning, inventory management, or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data setsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with retail planning software is a plusExperience with advanced data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau)Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practicesExperience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
