Location : Maybank, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Responsibilities

• Leverage legal background with specialization in Data Protection Law and experience in data protection / privacy work.
• Oversee the effective management and handling of sensitive data.
• Advise and support internal stakeholders in conducting data protection risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with new initiatives or projects.
• Act as subject matter expert on data protection and privacy matters, providing consultancy and advisory support to internal stakeholders.
• Develop training materials, communications, and awareness programs on data ethics, privacy, and data protection to align with business goals and educate employees on responsibilities, rights, and obligations regarding data privacy and security.
• Develop, review, enhance, and implement frameworks, policies, and procedures reflecting best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, particularly information security, risk, compliance, legal, and business teams.
• Where required, serve as a point of contact for regulatory and data protection authorities on data-related matters, including responding to regulatory surveys.
