Finance Controller, Materials Group - ASEAN

Overview

Avery Dennison Corporation is a global materials science and digital identification solutions company. We design and develop labeling and functional materials, RFID inlays and tags, software applications that connect the physical and digital, and offerings that enhance branded packaging and carry or display information. This role is for Finance Controller, Materials Group - ASEAN, reporting to the Corporate Controller with dotted line to the Director-SSO.

Responsibilities

• Direct controllership of Materials Group - ASEAN; Malaysia finance team will report to you.
• Ensure quality of financial information, complete and accurate statutory and US GAAP reporting, and tax compliance; monitor transfer pricing.
• Maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of financial information.
• Partner with Business Partners, Shared Service Organizations and stakeholders on accounting and control issues; implement SOX compliance program.
• Oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; develop and maintain global and local policies.
• Support new accounting pronouncements impacting the financial statements.
• Ensure effective internal controls around Free Cash Flow and local direct / indirect tax filings.
• Oversee preparation of tax-related documents for annual compliance; support transfer pricing policies.
• Drive process improvements and regional / global initiatives; build relationships with business and functional leaders.
• Provide training on policy compliance; support operating plans for working capital.
• Conduct performance reviews and lead training and development for the team; onboard and train new associates as needed.
