Overview
We are seeking a Lead Engineer for our client to serve as the technical authority for their renewable energy portfolio in Malaysia, covering solar , battery energy storage systems (BESS) , and onshore wind projects.
This position oversees all engineering aspects—civil, electrical, high-voltage, and system design—ensuring projects meet performance, safety, and quality targets. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical engagement, supporting project development, construction, and operations, while working closely with local partners, utilities, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the full engineering cycle for solar, BESS, and onshore wind projects.
- Review, validate, and optimize designs, layouts, and technical documentation.
- Drive performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across projects.
Standards & Processes
Maintain and improve internal technical standards, document control, and data systems.Ensure all engineering outputs align with company policies and safety requirements.Procurement & Contracting
Prepare technical inputs for tenders, including BoMs, SoWs, and RFQs.Support supplier evaluations, contract reviews, and technical negotiations.Project Execution Support
Act as the central technical contact for project teams, contractors, and clients.Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and O&M.Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical due diligence.Prepare documentation for engineering-related permits and grid applications.Development & Asset Management
Support site selection, feasibility assessments, and performance analyses.Contribute to asset monitoring and continuous improvement across operating sites.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with finance, investment, and operations teams to provide technical due diligence and simulation insights.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.Minimum 5 years’ experience in renewable energy engineering (solar, BESS, or wind).Strong understanding of electrical, civil, and high-voltage design principles.Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary technical teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
