The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in marine insurance—particularly within cargo or hull, or broader marine lines—and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities. As a Senior Manager / Director (Marine) , you will oversee a substantial portfolio of regional marine accounts, drive business growth, strengthen market partnerships, and provide strategic direction to support the continued expansion of the marine practice across Asia.
The Role
This is a senior regional Placing & Producing Marine Broking leadership role , responsible for driving the growth, performance, and strategic development of the marine portfolio across Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and expanding a significant portfolio of marine accounts across the region.
- Leading high-level client engagements and providing strategic, technically robust advisory solutions.
- Developing and executing business development initiatives to grow the marine portfolio through referrals, key relationships, and strategic partnerships.
- Acting as a senior market negotiator with insurers and reinsurers, ensuring competitive placements and innovative solutions.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior and mid-level brokers within the team.
- Supporting long-term succession planning and contributing to the strategic direction of the marine practice.
- Representing the company at industry events, client meetings, and market discussions across regional markets.
Experience & Technical Skills
10+ years of experience in marine insurance broking , with strong expertise in cargo, hull, or broader marine lines.Proven track record of managing and growing complex marine accounts across multiple markets.Deep technical understanding of marine insurance structures, policy wordings, and global market practices.Strong experience in leading client relationships at senior levels, including C-suite and key decision-makers.Demonstrated capability in driving business development strategies and delivering sustainable revenue growth.Experience managing or mentoring teams is strongly preferred.Extensive knowledge of Asian marine markets and established relationships with regional insurers and reinsurers.Seniority level
