Job Overview :
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and linen rooms while ensuring high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction.
Rooms
- 1. Prepare housekeeping forms necessary in the performance of their duties, responsibilities and ready for daily morning briefing 15 minutes before starting their shift.
- 2. Clean and service guestrooms and bathrooms to meet the standards Hotel.
- 3. Remove all room service trays and services equipment to the pantry for collection by room service waiters.
- 4. Remove all wastepaper and disposed materials from guestrooms on the floor and take them to the waste disposal area.
- 5. Empty and wash ashtrays. Do not throw cigarette butts into the toilet bowl.
- 6. Make up the bed. Any linen that is stained or torn should be tied in a knot and sent to the Linen Room separately.
- 7. Shake blankets, sheets, pillowcases so that clothing or articles left will not be lost. Hand over all guest’s property found inside the guestroom to the Room Supervisor or Housekeeping Office.
- 8. Control, check and stack clean linen received from the Linen Room into the pantry.
- 9. Bring down soiled linen from each section with properly completed count sheet to the Linen Pantry.
- 10. Vacuum, clean, and upkeep all guest corridors, ash stands, linen pantries and service rooms including room attendant toilets, making sure that they are clean and free of odors.
- 11. Clean and keep the stairs tidy at all times.
- 12. Shampoo and spot clean carpets in guestrooms.
- 13. Clean windows in the guest rooms and corridor.
- 14. Check electrical lighting in the guestroom in order and report fused bulbs to Maintenance Department.
- 15. Check for blocked drains and leaking taps in the bathroom especially the bath drain.
- 16. Report defects and repairs required in terms of decor, equipment fixtures and fittings to the Room Supervisor.
- 17. Ensure proper usage and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- 18. Empty and clean vacuum cleaners at the end of every shift and replenish the trolleys.
- 19. Report any unusual behaviour of guests to the Room Supervisor.
Linen
1. Unpack, check and proper shelving of the clean linen delivered by the Laundry Contractor.2. Check the linen returned from the laundry contractor for any losses, damage, stains or imperfections.3. Prepare a report for the Linen Supervisor so that they can decide on what should be done.4. Distribute clean and fit linen to the different hotel departments.5. Maintain the linen room in a clean and orderly manner.6. Help the Linen Supervisor with the 3 monthly stock take or inventory.7. Report to the Linen Supervisor when stocks reach the minimum for reorder purposes.8. Perform other related duties as maybe delegated by Linen Supervisor or Senior Assistant Housekeeper.Requirements
Education : Minimum SPM or equivalent; prior housekeeping experience is an advantage.Experience : Preferably 1+ years in housekeeping, especially in a hotel setting.Skills : Attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently.Physical Requirements : Ability to lift, stand, and bend for extended periods.Other : Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.#J-18808-Ljbffr
