Overview
As a Techno-economic Assessment (TEA) specialist at the Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC), you will be at the forefront of pioneering sustainable aviation projects, focusing on the entire spectrum from feedstock identification to integration of feedstocks into viable SAF conversion pathways in refinery plants. Your role involves conducting techno-economic analyses to evaluate the viability, sustainability, and market potential of innovative aviation technologies, focusing on chemical processes related to sustainable fuel production. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of feedstock experts, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysts and policy researchers to drive our mission towards a more sustainable aviation industry.
Objectives
- Develop, maintain, and refine techno-economic models for different SAF production pathways via Microsoft Excel.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to understand the impact of feedstock costs, process efficiencies, and policy incentives on SAF production economics.
- Develop and apply analytical models to evaluate the economic performance and environmental impact of new technologies and processes.
- Design and optimize chemical processes for the aerospace and aviation industry, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and reducing environmental emissions.
- Identify and analyze the value chain for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and other sustainable aviation initiatives, from raw material sourcing to end‑use.
- Work closely with the R&D team to integrate technical findings and economic analysis into the development and optimization of sustainable aviation solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
