Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Account Executive / Senior Account Executive to manage Beacon Mart outlets’ General Ledger (GL) and daily bank reconciliation activities. The role involves ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of daily cash deposits, Visa / Master transactions, e-wallet collections, and other payment modes from our retail outlets. You will also support the month-end closing process, internal controls, and yearly audit requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update General Ledger (GL) for all Beacon Mart outlets.
- Perform daily reconciliation of bank-in slips, cash deposits, Visa / Master, e-wallet, and other collections against POS reports.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in deposit records, merchant statements, and bank accounts.
- Ensure timely posting of journal entries with complete supporting documents.
- Prepare daily and weekly reconciliation schedules for management review.
- Support month-end closing by reconciling outlet accounts and ensuring completeness of accruals.
- Prepare audit schedules, liaise with auditors, and ensure completeness of supporting documents during the annual audit exercise.
- Assist in preparing schedules for internal reviews and provide necessary documentation.
- Liaise with outlet managers and internal departments to resolve finance-related queries.
- Assist in process improvements and strengthening of internal controls over outlet collections.
- Maintain fixed asset schedule and record monthly depreciation accurately.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Finance Manager / Head of Finance.
Requirements
Qualifications :
Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Experience :
Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in accounting, preferably with retail or FMCG industry exposure.Experience in GL posting and bank reconciliation is required.Skills and Attributes :
Strong attention to detail with good analytical skills.Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.Familiar with POS systems, bank reconciliation, and accounting software (SQL / Autocount / Dynamod or equivalent).Good interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with outlet staff and internal departments.Team player with a positive working attitude.Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
