About the Role

The Account Assistant plays a key role in supporting the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of accounting data. This position focuses on performing double-entry bookkeeping and assisting with General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) functions. The role requires attention to detail, consistency, and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare payment voucher, cheque, telegraphic transfer and bank trade facility e.g. BG, LC, etc.
• Perform double-entry bookkeeping for all financial transactions
• Assist in maintaining and reconciling the General Ledger (GL)
• Record and monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) and follow up on outstanding balances
• Record and manage Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely and accurate entries
• Support monthly and year-end financial closing activities
• Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for audits
• Ensure all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed
