This role combines business analysis and product ownership responsibilities to support the end-to-end delivery of multiple products under the company’s portfolio. The Senior Business Analyst & Product Owner is responsible for translating business objectives and regulatory requirements into actionable product deliverables, maintaining documentation and backlog discipline, and ensuring alignment between stakeholders, engineering, and compliance teams. The role also acts as a mentor to junior business analysts and QAs and contributes to the continuous improvement of product processes and standards.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, structured, and collaborative professional who enjoys turning complex requirements into clear, testable outcomes and wants to grow into a Product Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy, Roadmap & Delivery Support
Support the Head of Product in executing the product strategy and roadmap across multiple product lines (including digital asset custody and trustee platforms).
Maintain a detailed and prioritized product backlog with clear acceptance criteria and definitions of done.
Work closely with the Head of Product to align product features with business goals, compliance requirements, and customer needs.
Prepare business cases, functional specifications, and product briefs.
Lead go‑live preparation and coordinate pre and post‑launch activities with QA and Operations.
2. Business Analysis & Documentation
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through workshops, stakeholder interviews, and research.
Translate business needs into PRDs, PURs, process maps, and functional specifications.
Develop and maintain process documentation and SOPs to ensure operational consistency.
Serve as the point of reference for product and process documentation, ensuring it remains current and accessible.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood, traceable, and testable.
3. Agile Delivery, Product Discovery & Execution Discipline
Lead agile ceremonies : backlog grooming and sprint planning to ensure clarity and readiness of deliverables.
Work with and guide QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage, defect tracking, and UAT sign‑offs.
Review and improve API documentation, interface specifications, and user acceptance criteria for technical completeness.
4. Product Operations, Process Optimization & Workflow Management
Document, standardize, and maintain workflows and internal knowledge bases.
Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose automation opportunities.
Support tool audits and cost‑optimization initiatives by improving documentation, traceability, and team communication.
Participate in post‑release monitoring to ensure issues are logged, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.
5. Quality Assurance & UAT Management
Lead UAT sessions for new features and releases.
Work with QA to develop UAT test plans and coverage metrics aligned with business requirements.
Ensure documentation of defects and retest outcomes are complete and traceable.
Contribute to the maintenance of regression libraries and QA documentation.
6. Stakeholder Engagement, Mentorship & Team Development
Act as the liaison between product, engineering, operations, and compliance teams.
Present product updates and documentation clearly and confidently to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Foster a collaborative, low‑ego, and no‑politics working environment.
Mentor junior business analysts, providing guidance on documentation best practices, backlog management, and stakeholder communication.
7. Ad‑hoc & Strategic Initiatives
Support ad‑hoc projects requiring structured analysis and cross‑functional coordination.
Contribute to resource planning and project tracking as part of product operations.
Qualifications and Experience
5 years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Ownership, or Product Management.
Proven experience documenting business requirements, workflows, and functional specifications.
Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Linear, Diagrams.net / Visio and Postman.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
Familiarity with blockchain, digital assets, fintech and / or trustee structures is an advantage but not a dealbreaker.
