Laboratory Supervisor

Role Overview

PIC, a Genus PLC company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Laboratory Supervisor. This role oversees laboratory production operations, including assembly, processing and / or packaging. This role sets laboratory production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.

The successful candidate has the ability to work in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment as well as analyze and solve problems in an in an independent work environment. The candidate can work autonomously as well as collaboratively across functional teams and possesses strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

The position is based at the Genesis facility in Scottsville, Kentucky.

You Will

• Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with guidance from the Production Manager
• Make decisions that are guided by policies, procedures and business plans
• Require an understanding and application of procedures and concepts within own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines
• Train novice employees on the most current Standard Operating Procedures
• Conduct all people management responsibilities for direct reports, including but not limited to labour management, performance management, recruitment and training and development
• Verify accurate and timely production information and records are maintained
• Assist with herd-health testing protocols, submission forms and timely dispatch of test samples
• Supervise and be responsible for daily laboratory activities, including but not limited to :

Semen processing;
