About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Senior IP Executive to lead and manage the end-to-end intellectual property (IP) portfolio of the organization. This role covers both trademark and patent matters, ensuring that our clients' brands, innovations, and creative assets are strategically protected, efficiently managed, and fully compliant with local and international IP laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. IP Portfolio Management
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of clients' IP portfolios (trademarks, patents, copyrights, industrial designs, and trade secrets).
- Conduct trademark and patent searches, evaluate registrability, and manage filing strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
- Draft, file, and coordinate prosecution of trademark and patent applications in collaboration with local and international agents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of IP registrations, renewals, oppositions, and deadlines using internal docketing systems.
2. IP Strategy & Advisory
Develop and execute filing strategies aligned with client business objectives and market expansion plans.Provide guidance on brand protection, patentability of inventions, and portfolio structuring.Advise clients on IP-related matters, including licensing, collaborations, and strategic portfolio growth.3. Client Liaison & Relationship Management
Act as the primary point of contact for clients on all IP-related matters.Provide clear, timely, and practical updates to clients regarding filings, deadlines, and portfolio status.Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, associates, and regulatory authorities across different jurisdictions.4. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all filings and portfolio management activities comply with applicable IP regulations, treaties, and industry best practices.Coordinate with local and foreign associates to ensure proper documentation and compliance in multiple jurisdictions.Identify potential risks or gaps in portfolio coverage and propose preventive strategies to safeguard client rights.5. Administration & Reporting
Manage IP-related budgets, including filing and renewal costs.Prepare periodic reports to management and clients on portfolio status, deadlines, and action items.Recommend and implement process improvements, including adoption of IP management tools and systems for better efficiency.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Law, Intellectual Property, Science / Engineering, or related field. A postgraduate qualification or professional certification in IP is an advantage.Has hands-on experience in trademark and patent management, preferably in a corporate or IP law firm setting.Strong knowledge of IP laws, treaties (e.g., Madrid Protocol, PCT), and international filing practices.Proven experience in handling IP prosecution, enforcement, and dispute resolution.Strong client liaison and advisory skills, with the ability to explain complex IP concepts clearly.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex portfolios.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating with external partners and stakeholders.Job Types : Full-time, Permanent
