Job descriptionBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent. 10+ years of software development experience, with deep expertise in Java and related enterprise technologies. Minimum 3 years in a Solution Architect role, or proven track record leading at least one large-scale enterprise Java application project. Strong technical background in microservices architecture, cloud-native development, and layered application frameworks. Skilled in Java-related technologies including HTML, JSP, JavaScript, Servlets, JDBC. Familiarity with frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts, XML, and EJB. Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or equivalent (WebSphere / WebLogic experience is an advantage). Understanding of web application fundamentals such as session management, security, and performance tuning. Familiarity with AI development platforms (GitHub Copilot, OpenAI APIs, Hugging Face, etc.) and their practical application in modern development. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical solutions in simple terms to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor and guide development teams in adopting new practices and tools. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade Java-based applications, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Align business requirements with modern technical architectures and integration strategies.
- Introduce and govern the use of AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine, ChatGPT API, CodeWhisperer) to boost productivity.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, enforcing best practices around coding standards, design patterns, and performance optimisation.
- Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to embed automation and AI-enabled processes throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Conduct technical reviews of solution designs and implementations to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to architecture standards.
- Champion DevOps, CI / CD, and agile delivery practices across the development teams.
- Partner with project managers and stakeholders to scope technical deliverables, assess trade-offs, and define timelines.
- Drive discussions with business leaders and clients on architectural direction, emerging technologies, and solution strategies.
- Ensure all solutions are delivered on time and within agreed scope.
