Our client is a prominent legal firm based in Penang. They are rapidly expanding their firm and are seeking great talent to join their organization.
What you will be doing
What you will be doing : Responsible to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities, including establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategizing and advising client’s corporates structures.
- Conduct due diligence and handle merger & acquisitions, Joint Ventures, take over. (Due diligence shall include Intellectual property areas)
- Drafting & implementation of policies, corporate and commercial contracts
- To attend to all matters related to corporate practice, foreign direct investment, and incorporation of business
- Advising on compliances and the necessary applications
- Assisting clients with negotiations to conclude transactions and drafting agreements (Joint Venture, investment, shareholder, importer and exporter, venture capitalist, and others)
- Conducting legal research, analysis and writing legal opinions
- Involving in basic Intellectual Property application within Malaysia and outside Malaysia to familiarise with IP Mapping & IP Strategy
- Providing support to lawyers from IP Litigation or Corporate Litigation divisions with regards to the possible or existing strategies and insights with due diligence or preliminary search outcome.
- Conducting monthly meetings with clients & updating status report
- Conduct training / workshops for clients
- Applying basic Intellectual Property Knowledge in advising and strategising for the clients.
What will it take to succeed
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) with a valid practicing certificate.Knowledge and experience in general litigation matters and intellectual property are added advantages.Multilingual applicants will be prioritised.Detailed-oriented with a good and optimistic working attitude.Independent, meticulous, reliable, responsible, and accountable.Driven and persuasive.Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu is required.Must be able to work under tight deadlines, and pressure and take instructions well.Good advocacy, drafting and research skills.Proficient in Chinese will be value added.5 years' working experience as a lawyer with at least 3 years’ experience in corporate work, preferably having working experiences both in practice & in-house counsel in MNCs.Some past experiences in general civil litigation in wide-ranging areas of law will be value added.Notes
