Job descriptionMinimum 5 years of experience in a similar operational management role within the shipping or logistics industry Strong understanding of import / export and customs procedures, as well as experience in managing shipping operations Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams A team player with strong leadership and people management abilities Familiarity with palm industry regulations and compliance requirements
Job Description :
- Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the shipping department, including vessel scheduling, cargo loading and unloading, and customs related matter
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize shipping processes and maximise efficiency
- Liaise with shipping agents, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transportation of goods
- Monitor and analyse shipping data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures
- Oversee the management of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing import / export and customs procedures
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to provide accurate and timely information to clients
- Supervise and train a team of shipping and logistics professionals
