Overview
The Chemist will be responsible for performing chemical analyses and quality control tests using ICP-OES instrumentation. This role requires strong knowledge in trace metal analysis, sample preparation techniques, calibration, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting. The Chemist will ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- ICP-OES Operation & Analysis
Operate and maintain ICP-OES instruments for multi-elemental analysis.
Prepare, digest, and dilute samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).Perform instrument calibration, verification, and standardization.Analyse and interpret ICP-OES data to ensure accuracy and precision.Sample & Data ManagementManage sample preparation for various matrices (water, chemicals, raw materials, etc.).
Record and maintain accurate analytical data.Prepare reports and communicate findings to supervisors and relevant departments.To ensure COA is released timely.Instrument Maintenance & TroubleshootingConduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of ICP equipment.
Monitor instrument performance and take corrective actions when necessary.Quality Assurance & ComplianceFollow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO / ASTM standards.
Participate in proficiency testing, method validation, and QA / QC checks.Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.Method DevelopmentDevelop and validate new ICP analytical methods for different matrices.
Optimize detection limits, accuracy, and precision based on project requirements.Technical support & Quality managementTo assist the Marketing Department and HoD on NCR issues, reports, fulfilling customer requirements and complaints of any matters relevant.
To conduct any studyTo support in ISO9001, Halal certification compliance.Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.Experience : 2–5 years of experience in ICP analysis (ICP-OES).Technical Skills : Proficiency in ICP software and data interpretation. Familiarity with QA / QC practices and regulatory requirements.Soft Skills : Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
