Job descriptionMaster or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Design in a related area. Minimum 3 years product design experience preferably in test solution and or mechanical design (Senior level). Minimum 1 year experience in mechanical design (Junior level). A strong understanding of practical or methodical design development through prototyping, testing and evaluation of results. Preferably with hands on experience in one or more of the following design software - Solidworks, Cosmosworks, Solidworks Flow Simulation, Monte Carlo Analysis, etc. Knowledge in DFMEA, Problem solving skills, Semiconductor test and validation hardware (Test Contactor, Hand Socket Lid, etc.) for QFN, QFP, BGA, LGA, PGA would be advantageous.
Overview
Review design input from Sales / Customer and advise design schedule to Program Management department / Sales. Apply innovative problem solving skills to provide design specification for new design request. Challenge and develop engineering practices to continuously improve design quality. Participate in regular design reviews with manufacturing team - justify design details and collaborate with other specialists. Liaise with production and QA for design and engineering drawing related issues. Provide disposition for any dimensional non-conforming issues found by QA during bug off. Responsible to perform design simulation / design risk assessment when necessary. Carry out any other responsibilities as and when assigned by the Management.
