Electronics Category Manager
As the Electronics Category Manager, you will play a strategic role in driving the company's procurement and inventory management for its electronics product portfolio. Based in Selangor, this full-time position will involve overseeing the end-to-end category management lifecycle to ensure optimum product availability, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the company's commercial objectives.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement category management strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and competitiveness of the electronics product range
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demand to identify opportunities for category growth and optimisation
- Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, including pricing, delivery, and quality agreements
- Manage the procurement and inventory planning processes to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise excess or obsolete inventory
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align category plans with the overall business strategy
- Monitor and report on category performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the broader procurement team
What we’re looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience in a category management or procurement role, preferably within the electronics or technology industryStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed, strategic decisionsPrevious experience from lifescience or lab instruments industry will be advantageous.Experience dealing with centrifuges and vacuum concentrators, freezers, biological shakers and CO₂ incubators, thermocyclers & mixerProven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract managementExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionallyFamiliarity with supply chain best practices, inventory management, and logisticsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related fieldYour application will include the following questions
