Job Overview :
The Director of Project Engineering requires extensive expertise in project engineering, management, and business. This role leads through subordinate managers, executes business plans, and contributes to strategic development. The director handles complex business problems with broad industry and commercial awareness to enhance financial and operational performance and influence customer relationships.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Promote a “Safety as a Value” culture
- Manage the Project Engineering Department administratively and technically
- Establish departmental budgets and salary plans
- Recruit and maintain staffing levels for Project Engineering
- Provide leadership and professional development for staff
- Identify and address performance gaps
- Maintain project execution processes and procedures
- Allocate resources for quality, timely, and cost-effective project deliverables
- Ensure work integrity and compliance with project requirements
- Control costs, schedules, quantities, and budgets
- Coordinate with other departments to meet project needs
- Manage changes proactively and effectively
- Monitor project performance and support reviews
- Participate in Project Reviews and support proposal development
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned
- Ensure compliance with McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure team members complete mandatory training
Essential Qualifications and Education :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited universityMinimum 15 years of project engineering or engineering management experienceBroad technical knowledge of design engineering codes and standardsExperience with detailed engineering procedures and processesAbility to interpret contractual documentationEffective leadership and communication skillsLicensed Professional EngineerMembership in professional organizationsField assignment experienceExperience with international projects and multi-office executionExperience in joint ventures or consortiumsExperience in proposal development and contractual documentationExperience as a Project Management Team (PMT) leadExperience with brownfield and greenfield projects#LI-RI1
