Safety & Health Officer (TNB Projects - Butterworth North)

Company : TransSystem Continental Sdn Bhd TSC is run by a dedicated team of experienced and qualified engineers and technicians, most of whom have more than 20 years of hands-on experience in electricity generation, transmission, distribution and utilisation. Our specialty is in the implementation of electrical substations ranging from LV to EHV up to 500KV. We are also involved in the local manufacturing of Control Protection relay panels, Marshalling Kiosk, Metering Panels and related equipment to complement primary substation implementation business. Overview

To advise the employer or any person in charge of a place of work on the measures to be taken in the interests of safety and health of the persons employed in the place of work. Responsibilities

To assist the safety and health committee in inspections of the place of work to check the effectiveness and efficacy of measures taken in compliance with related Acts, Regulations and Guidelines. To inspect the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliances or processes are present or used in the place of work. To become secretary to the safety and health committee. To collect, analyze and maintain statistics on accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning and occupational diseases at the place of work. To assist any officer in matters pertaining to safety and health of the place of work. Reports to Project Manager and assists / advices line management on the Site Safety Management Plan implementation. Provide advice to line management on Safe Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Prepare Site Safety Statistics and Site Safety Monthly Reports. Carry out weekly and monthly safety inspections. Review all near-misses, incidents and accidents; ensure the site maintains records and documentation as per company statutory requirements. Any other duties as assigned by the HOD from time to time. Qualifications

At least 3 years of working experience in Occupational Safety and Health in the construction industry. Good planning and organization skills. Green Book and CIDB is required. Proactive and able to work independently. Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to provide solutions for problem solving. Languages : Bahasa Malaysia and English. Must be willing to travel and outstation. Willing to work at night when needed.
