It manages the accounting processes and financial reporting according to local legislation and group policies. The team also supports business units by offering advice on commercial matters, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes, developing tools to increase digital fluency, and promoting change management initiatives.This role will lead the Accounting & Controlling team and report to the Head of GBSSC Finance. Job Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day activities within the department;
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal clients (operations and projects);
- Coordinating the annual budget planning cycle and monthly forecasting exercises;
- Monitoring revenues and costs against budgets / forecasts and taking appropriate actions when necessary;
- Supporting cost recovery processes and ensuring proper billing to customers;
- Implementing guidelines and innovative approaches in accounting and controlling activities;
- Ensuring the consistency between accounting records and actual transactions performed by the business units;
- Identifying risks related to non-compliance with local regulations or group policies, and proposing measures to mitigate them;
- Advising business units on commercial matters and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes;
- Developing tools to increase digital fluency;
- Promoting change management initiatives within the team.Job Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical fields;
- Master’s degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Management, or other similar fields is an asset;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the oil and gas industry;
- Good knowledge of Romanian tax laws and local accounting standards;
- Good understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP;
- Very good command of English language (both verbal and written);
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent leadership and people management skills;
- Experience in managing large teams and working with multiple partners;
- Experience in project management and implementation of new systems and processes;
- Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and authorities;
- High level of proficiency in using MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
