Overview

Our client, a multinational corporation (MNC) and global leader providing products, services, and software to the construction, semiconductor / data center, energy / industry, and infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Regional Legal Counsel to strengthen its legal and compliance function across the South Asia Pacific region (covering Southeast Asia, India, Australia & New Zealand).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Region Head of Legal & Compliance on all legal and compliance issues.
  • Roll out global contracting frameworks (sales, services, software) and adapt them to local laws.
  • Act as the primary advisor for employment / labor law and corporate matters across the region.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts (sales, EPC / project, corporate, tenancy, distributor, employment, services, logistics, NDAs, liability / warranty documents).
  • Manage external counsels and support legal risk management across the business.
  • Drive alignment and implementation of global legal initiatives and compliance policies.
  • Conduct training and presentations on legal and compliance topics for business teams.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 8–10 years' experience, ideally from a top-tier law firm and / or multinational company.
  • Strong exposure to South Asia Pacific markets, with knowledge of regional business norms and legal frameworks.
  • Expertise in employment / labor law, corporate and commercial law.
  • Proven track record in sales / project contracting, ideally in construction, energy, oil & gas, or offshore wind sectors.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation and administration for cross-border projects.
  • Strong business acumen, proactive and pragmatic approach, able to balance risk with opportunity.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%).
  • Languages : Fluent English (additional regional languages a plus).
