1. Job Purpose

The data science engineer will ensure that data driven decisions are possible to be made in order to improve product quality, product performance and product cost during the product development and NPI phase

2. Duties and Responsibilities

What are the principal areas of work in which the job must produce results in order to achieve its purpose? Include also the level of authority and / or autonomy you have to make decisions or authorise work to be done.

Set up automated data acquisition and data extraction

Develop tools to verify data integrity

In charge of data mining and data analytics

Develop data science solutions using statistical and machine learning techniques

Apply statistical methods to detect anomalies, trends and shifts

Develop predictive models for data trends and anomalies

Work cross-functionally in a collaborative mode with multiple groups within the engineering team, NPI, Quality and Manufacturing teams

Document analytical results for technical teams and management

Outline the important relationships that the jobholder must maintain, and the sorts of issues on which that jobholder must communicate within these relationships.

4. EHS Responsibilities

i. Responsible towards the environmental conservation, health and safety of own self and his employees according to the laws, regulations and guidelines from country or state authority, corporate and local operation.

ii. Inform, consult and participate his employee in evaluating work place risk.

iii. Stop work for him and his employees where he has reasonable ground to believe there is a risk of imminent and serious injury or harm to health.

5. Job Requirements

These are the key requirements necessary for success in the role

Knowledge

Technical expert in the field of data analytics, data mining

Technical / Work-based Skills

Proficient in Python and SQL languages

Experienced with statistical modelling and data mining techniques

Strong problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously

General Skills / Attributes

Excellent communication and written skills

Ability to make decisions in complex situations

Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, as well as internal and external partners

Target driven personality with high execution focus

Experience

At least 5 years experience in the field of data analytics, data mining

Qualifications

BSc / MSC / Ph.D Degreein Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Physics or Engineering
