JOB DESCRIPTION
Monitors and evaluates plant performance with the objective of maintaining highest operating efficiency and plant reliability
Develops and updates plant performance monitoring programs for continuous performance monitoring
- Highlights deviations in unit consumption ratios, emissions, waste generations and other relevant KPIs to the plant operation team
Continuously discusses with plant operation teams to better understand the process of individual plants
Performs process studies and recommends areas for improvement in the process and operating procedures
Evaluates operating conditions and compare to similar plants elsewhere to identify opportunity for improvement
Elaborates and discusses with plant operation teams to gain more insights into the identified area of improvementCoordinates with the plant operation team to conduct trial runs where possible to gain relevant operating dataProposes improvement initiatives in the form of plant modification or changes in the procedure to the Site Utilities & Verbund Management (SU) management
Coordinates implementation of plant improvement initiatives and execution of capital expenditure projects
Coordinates the workflow of Management of Change (MOC) procedures for all plant modifications and new projects within the Site Utilities & Verbund Management (SU)
Contributes inputs to the project team on the concept of modifications, risks assessment, windows for implementationCommunicates each proposed change to the plant operation teamsCoordinates updating of documentation such as Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment datasheets, drawings and vendor document for parts of the plants affected by the changes between project execution team and plant operation team
Updates Supervisory Operation Manual to incorporates new findings and changes to the plant
Updates the plant process manuals plants regularly to reflect changes done and new findings as advised by the technology group
Communicates changes to the content of the process manuals to the operation teamsJOB REQUIREMENT
Able to perform steady state simulation by using Aspen HYSYS / Aspen PlusAble to perform preliminary heat exchanger sizing by using Aspen EDRAble to perform hydraulic / line sizing calculation / simulation for both compressible and incompressible fluidsAble to perform / review and contribute to pressure relief devices sizing, selection and installation.Able to perform / review and contribute to Alarm ManagementAble to perform P&ID reviews independently and address the deviation as per internal procedure workflowAble to lead in exploring new technology with vendors or collaborate with vendors for potential added-value products or studies for long-term plant improvement.Able to produce a comprehensive technical report as part of process improvement studies deliverableAble to perform mass and energy balance based on available historian dataAble to read and utilize piping isometric and GA drawing as neededAble to read and utilize process / equipment datasheet as neededAble to generate mark-up PFD and mark-up P&ID for new project or plant modification projectAble to generate potential technical solutions from constraintsAble to facilitate or advise operation crews on developing matured proposal from raw ideasAble to apply Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Tools to enhance productivity, simplification, cost effectiveness and waste reductionAble to perform NPV / PVI calculation for cost benefits analysisAble to lead / contribute to Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)Able to perform process data analysis and validation before translating into proper visualization for supporting decision makingAble to use tools like Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint for dashboard creation and maintenance.Able to advise or lead in developing procedures for commissioning / start up of new equipment or process.Able to lead performance test of new install equipment in term of process with collaboration of relevant stakeholders.Able to perform specific calculation for boiler, deaerator, steam turbine, cooling tower, pump, compressor and general process heating / cooling.Registered as Graduate Engineer with BEM (preferred) or Registered as Graduate Technologist with MBOT (preferred) orRegistered as Graduate Member with IEM (preferred)
