Summary
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Network Engineer to join our team. This role involves working closely with a demanding customer and providing timely solutions to network-related issues. The ideal candidate should excel in troubleshooting and resolving faults within the network infrastructure while maintaining clear and professional communication.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and managing the organization's local and wide area networks (LAN / WAN) and server systems to ensure maximum uptime. This includes designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of new networks, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems.
Work Schedule :
- On-site Monday to Friday
- Working hours : 0800 Hours – 1730 Hours
- Occasional standby duties as required
Key Responsibilities
Network Fault Resolution :Serve as the primary point of contact for identifying and resolving network faults.Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.Infrastructure Monitoring :Continuously monitor network performance to identify potential issues proactively.Device Maintenance :Perform routine maintenance, including firmware upgrades for network equipment such as Ciscorouters, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
Configuration Management :Configure and optimize Cisco network devices to ensure reliable operations.Preventive Maintenance :Conduct regular inspections to ensure the health of network devices and systems.Customer Support :Provide timely updates and clear communication to the customer about fault resolution progress andsystem status.
Vendor Coordination :Collaborate with vendors for support and to escalate issues when necessary.Vulnerability Assessment :Perform regular vulnerability assessments on network infrastructure to identify security risks.Work closely with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security bestpractices.
Document findings and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.Requirements
Certifications : Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are mandatory. Additional certifications innetworking are a plus.
Education : Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing and troubleshooting networkinfrastructure.
Technical Skills :Expertise in Cisco networking products, including routers, switches, and firewalls.Strong knowledge of LAN / WAN, VLAN, and network security principles.Problem-Solving : Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting andstakeholder updates.
Adaptability : Ability to work under minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.Flexibility : Willingness to work overtime or travel to nearby branches when required.
