About the role

PARAGON PAPER & PLYWOOD SDN. BHD. Lot , Off Persiaran Perindustrian Kanthan 1, Kanthan, 31200 Chemor, Perak is seeking an experienced and dedicated Accountant to join our dynamic team in Chemor, Perak. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the company's financial accounting and reporting processes. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the overall financial health and strategic growth of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Produce timely and reliable financial statements, reports, and analysis to support management decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Participate in the implementation of financial systems and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Perform other ad-hoc financial duties as required

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or CIMA) is preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the Financial Accounting & Reporting industry
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations
