Responsibilities

  • Develop automated test solutions from scratch, applying solid coding principles to build maintainable, scalable test frameworks and scripts, rather than relying solely on pre-existing automation.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for core products (e.g. AREMA, Cardworks), covering end-to-end integrated application flows.
  • Perform manual testing as needed to gain insights for effective automation strategies.
  • Design and implement test automation solutions that improve test coverage, efficiency, and reliability across multiple product modules and sub-components.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to understand new features, define testing requirements, and ensure testability.
  • Execute automated test suites, analyse test results, and verify application behaviour against expected outcomes, including screen functionality and database validations.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of test frameworks and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced automation and lead implementation efforts to optimize testing efforts.
  • Log, track, and manage defects through resolution, working collaboratively with developers to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Create and maintain reusable test automation frameworks and tools to streamline testing efforts.
  • Communicate automated testing progress, results, and key quality metrics to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in test automation and quality engineering.

Qualifications

  • Academic Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualification (Optional) : ISTQB-CT-TAE (Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer)
  • Min years of experience : Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Software Engineering with a focus on testing.
  • Experience in : Expertise in at least 2 key areas of testing – web, mobile, API / backend, security, performance.
  • Experience with industry standard testing platforms or frameworks e.g. Katalon, Playwright, Postman, Cypress, Appium, Robot Framework, Karate.
  • Experience with CI / CD tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Fintech, Banking, Financial Institutions, Cards & Payments, and IT industry experience.
  • Familiarity with : Modern tech stack and Agile development methodologies.
  • Technical skills : Strong understanding of Software Development, Software Testing methodologies and principles.
  • Strong logical / analytical thinking, independent, organised, creative and able to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative; Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Working in a technical environment with a broad, cross-functional team.
  • Technical experience with analytical tools, methodologies, and product / system design.
  • Ability to work in a semi-structured environment with strong attention to detail and teamwork.
  • Delivering technical presentations or training.
