About the role

As a Senior Tax Associate, you will be responsible for preparing tax filing documents, gathering information for tax reviews, and conducting tax research projects. You will play a key role in our tax team and are expected to stay up-to-date with emerging tax laws and trends. You will recommend tax strategies that comply with local legislation to ensure our clients meet all their tax obligations. We are looking for proactive and dynamic individuals who are driven to achieve both personal and team success.

Essential Functions

  • Assist clients in ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, meeting all tax filing deadlines for both corporate and individual tax.
  • Prepare tax computations for individuals, sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and withholding tax for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all assigned deliverables and provide high-quality tax services.
  • Engage in effective communication with clients and colleagues to enhance service delivery, identify areas for improvement, and drive efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and internal departments.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff and interns.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements

  • A Diploma in Accountancy, or a Degree in Accountancy (or equivalent professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA).
  • Accreditation by the Malaysian Tax Academy (or similar certification) will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of tax experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Malaysian GST (SST) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to solve problems, work under pressure, and demonstrate resilience when facing challenges.
  • A good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and methodical.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
