Position Title : Junior Chemist / Laboratory Technician
Department : Quality & Research / Laboratory
Reports To : Plant Manager
Job Purpose : Support laboratory and quality operations by performing routine testing, sample preparation, and assisting in research and development activities. Ensure compliance with company standards, Halal requirements, KKM Pharmacy Department guidelines, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. Gain exposure to analytical techniques, quality systems, and chemical product development.
Key Responsibilities :
- Quality Assurance & Testing :
- Conduct chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Accurately record and report test results following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in troubleshooting product non-conformities under supervision.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and tracking of samples.
- Laboratory Support :
- Prepare reagents, standards, and test solutions for daily operations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and report calibration or maintenance needs.
- Follow safety protocols, chemical handling, and waste disposal procedures.
- Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and safe.
- Research & Development Support :
- Assist in trials and experiments for new product development.
- Conduct literature searches and collect data for senior chemists.
- Support product improvement projects by analyzing test data.
- Compliance & Documentation :
- Adhere to ISO (ISO 5001), GMP, Halal, Green Label, and KKM Pharmacy Department requirements.
- Comply with local HSE regulations and waste management standards.
- Assist in preparing Certificates of Analysis (COA), technical reports, and audit documentation.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and training sessions.
Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry. Experience : Minimum 2 years of lab or QA / QC experience in a chemical manufacturing plant (preferred). Skills & Competencies : Basic knowledge of chemical laboratory techniques and safety practices. Familiarity with Halal certification requirements (training provided). Interest in KKM Pharmacy Department (NPRA) regulations. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping. Good teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn. Proficiency in MS Office and basic lab software. Work Environment :
Laboratory-based with occasional exposure to the production floor. PPE and safety training provided. Job Type : Permanent
