We are looking for candidates to fill multiple new permanent (full‑time) Production Planner roles, which are crucial for ensuring efficient manufacturing processes through proficient production scheduling, order fulfillment, and inventory management, all aimed at maximizing productivity and output.
As a Production Planner at AE, you will play a critical role in the Planning team, ensuring on‑time delivery of finished goods as scheduled by AE committed shipment date. You will improve AE capability to meet customer delivery requirements by understanding BU capacity, identifying constraints, and actively reducing lead time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise planning team, give planners direction on company metric.
- Schedule and manage (re‑schedule) production work orders within demonstrated capacity, working with production to achieve optimal capacity, including spare parts, service, and engineering where appropriate.
- Acknowledge and confirm ship dates for customer orders, communicating with Customer Advocates to ensure commitment dates are achieved and following AE process to notify them of any changed commitment dates.
- Provide daily status reports of all delivery requirements, acting as the focal point for schedule information and adjustments with inputs from the BU Marketing Manager, Territory Manager and / or BU Operations Director.
- Coordinate and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in production.
- Develop and manage customer support plans to minimize work‑in‑process and finished goods inventory where appropriate.
- Analyze long‑lead‑time parts and work with purchasing to develop custom supply solutions (e.g., point‑of‑use material, line‑side stocking, Kanban, min‑max supply, etc.).
- Work with Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Engineering, Engineering Services, Planning, Customer Support, Documentation, and work cells to implement ECOs, ensuring material availability prior to ECOs becoming active, working with Materials on disposition of remaining material, and coordinating ECO rework of assemblies in the manufacturing process.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Thorough understanding of SAP or Material Requirements Planning (MRP), planning functions, and shop floor processes and materials.Ability to effectively interpret and summarize statistical reports.Excellent judgment and initiative, including ability to balance multiple priorities.Excellent understanding of true material lead times for all critical assemblies.Excellent computer skills, including accurate data entry and experience with PC applications such as Word, Excel, ad hoc queries, and / or relational databases.EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing and production arrangement as well as new product introduction environment.Previous experience with SAP.Experience in a high mix / low volume, pull‑based manufacturing environment.EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management, Computer Information Sciences, or Engineering, or equivalent education and / or experience.
Prefer American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or CPM certification.
