Lead and manage the Credit Assessment team to ensure timely, consistent, and accurate credit evaluations.
Develop and refine credit assessment policies, procedures, and frameworks in line with best practices and regulatory guidelines.
Provide strategic insights to senior management on credit risk trends and portfolio quality.
2.Credit Evaluation & Approval
Review and approve credit applications within delegated authority limits.
Conduct in-depth financial, business, and industry analysis for complex or high-value proposals.
Recommend appropriate credit structures, terms, and conditions to mitigate risks.
Monitor and challenge assumptions in business and repayment models.
Ensure credit proposals comply with internal risk appetite, lending policies, and regulatory standards.
Identify early warning signals and provide input for remedial or recovery strategies.
Support stress testing, risk rating methodology, and portfolio concentration analysis.
Coordinate with Risk, Legal, and Compliance departments on credit matters.
4.People & Process Management
Mentor, coach, and develop credit analysts and managers to strengthen overall team capability.
Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency in credit assessment workflows.
Ensure effective succession planning within the department.
5.Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with Business Development teams to balance risk and return in lending decisions by challenging and validating business assumptions to ensure credit proposals are commercially viable yet within the organisation’s risk appetite.
Support product and business strategy discussions with credit insights to ensure growth objectives are met without compromising asset quality.
Ensure alignment between business targets, risk-return trade-offs, and overall portfolio objectives.
Prepare and deliver regular credit risk reports, portfolio reviews, and emerging risk analyses to Senior Management to support strategic decision-making.
Provide insights and advisory to the Senior Management on credit trends, risk appetite, and potential impact on business objectives.
Liaise with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders on credit-related matters.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, or related field.
Professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or equivalent are an advantage.
Minimum 10–12 years’ experience in credit assessment / credit risk management, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of credit policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory guidelines.
Proven track record in assessing complex credit proposals across multiple industries.
