Air Products is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to support plant operations, ensure documentation accuracy, coordinate cylinder logistics, and maintain compliance with Air Products standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, SAP proficiency, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. This position ensures safety requirements are implemented and adhered to by all employees and visitors to Shah Alam.

Responsibilities and expectations focus on daily plant operations, safety / compliance, trading products management, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with plant safety rules, regulations, and housekeeping standards.

  • Responsible for safety and regulatory compliance and management at the facility.
  • Daily Operations

    • Oversee daily plant operations, including troubleshooting and maintaining optimal operating conditions.

  • Monitor production outputs and escalate issues to the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure operational KPIs are met and sustained at target levels.
  • Maintain proper recording and control of plant activities at all times.
  • Coordinate and fulfill daily refilling operation requirements.
  • Prepare monthly production reports for review.
  • Trading Products Management

    • Coordinate and manage empty cylinder readiness for trading products (PR / RT / Banana / Body labels).

  • Verify RTs sent to vendors are suitable for filling and correctly labeled.
  • Track HT compliance and follow up on quotations / PR / PO for additional services (HT, maintenance, painting, valve replacement).
  • Manually track and reconcile PO quantities vs. actual empty cylinders delivered.
  • Coordinate physical receiving and SAP MIGO processing.
  • Ensure all the full cylinder received (trading products) comply to Air Products standard.
  • Vendor Coordination

    • Conduct timely meetings with suppliers to follow up on outstanding POs, full cylinder readiness, RT shortages, and HT cylinder / maintenance status.

  • Continuous Improvement

    • Understand and apply continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and productivity enhancements.

    • Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in plant operations or supply chain support.
  • Open to fresh graduates.
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Effective communication and vendor management abilities.
