Courtyard by Marriott Subang is a 280‑room mixed‑use development located at Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang, Subang Jaya, Petaling District, Greater Kuala Lumpur. The hotel, expected to open in 2027, will feature an all‑day dining restaurant, bars, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, one ballroom and three meeting rooms (total event space 965 sq m). Access to the Subang Airport is just an 8‑minute drive.

Job Summary

The General Manager is the primary strategic business leader of the property. Responsibilities include overseeing guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation, and delivering a return on investment to Marriott International and property owners. The GM ensures the implementation of service strategy, leads the property leadership team, drives sales activities, and builds strong relationships with owners, local officials, and the community.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Previous work experience in Malaysia as a General Manager, preferably with pre‑opening experience within Marriott, is required.

Education And Experience

  • 2‑year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 8 years’ experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related field.

  • 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 6 years’ experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related field.

JOB SPECIFIC TASKS

Business Strategy Development

  • Stay current with industry trends, monitor competition, and explore new business opportunities.
  • Develop business plans designed to maximize property customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share.
  • Translate Marriott global strategic plan into a actionable local business strategy.
  • Business Strategy Execution

  • Execute business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share.
  • Hold the leadership team accountable for delivery of business plans and experiment with new ideas.
  • Evaluate the success of strategies to inform future enhancements.
  • Sales and Marketing

  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to develop revenue‑generating strategies.
  • Identify new business leads and pursue them actively.
  • Harness Marriott demand engines and improve booking experience.
  • Talent Management and Organizational Capability

  • Create a cohesive executive committee and coach leaders for performance.
  • Develop learning opportunities, succession plans, and staff staffing processes.
  • Ensure effective systems and teamwork for overall performance.
  • Business Information Analysis

  • Review business data such as market share, financials, inventory, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze information to address changing market conditions and meet profit targets.
  • Integrate insights into future business plans.
  • Revenue Management

  • Develop effective pricing strategies balancing seasonality, market, and customer segments.
  • Ensure demand forecasting and yield management support occupancy and RevPAR goals.
  • Owner Relations

  • Maintain active communication with owners and provide in‑depth performance analysis.
  • Balance owner interests with Marriott brand interests and propose value‑creating initiatives.
  • Customer and Public Relations Management

  • Actively gather guest feedback and enhance service delivery.
  • Promote a strong brand image and strategic alliances with local stakeholders.
  • Ensure high‑quality publicly‑facing events and PR buzz.
  • Company / Brand Policy, Procedures, and Standards Compliance

  • Guarantee compliance with safety, operations, labor, and Marriott brand standards.
  • Conduct quality audits and maintain building and public area standards.
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained and perform to standard.
