Section Head - Database Administrator

Genting Malaysia is a leading multinational conglomerate that is principally involved in the leisure and hospitality business, covering theme parks, casinos, hotels, seaside resorts and entertainment venues in Malaysia, the UK, and the US.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team. The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the company's databases. This role includes planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.

Key Responsibilities :

• Database Management : Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc. Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required. Manage database availability and performance, including disaster recovery, database backup and restore procedures.
• Data Security : Implement and enforce database security protocols to ensure data privacy and protection. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Performance Tuning : Analyze and optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization. Implement best practices for database design and development to improve efficiency.
• Data Integrity : Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular database maintenance and validation checks. Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.
• User Support : Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to database users. Collaborate with developers and IT staff to design and implement database solutions.
• Project Management : Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects involving databases. Work with project teams to determine database requirements and design solutions.
