About the role

Paradigm Event Agency is seeking an Accountant Manager / Executive to join our growing team in Penang. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the company's financial accounting and reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial data to support strategic business decisions.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Maintaining accurate general ledger and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
Reconciling bank and credit card statements, and resolving any discrepancies
Assisting with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial analysis as required
Ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
Providing financial guidance and support to department managers and the executive team
Supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff, if applicable

What we're looking for

Professional accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or CPA)

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting or financial management role, preferably in the events or hospitality industry

Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, reporting standards, and best practices

Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide recommendations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting

Experience in supervising and developing accounting staff, if applicable
