ACWA Power Malaysia is seeking a highly experienced and results driven Senior Manager Project Finance to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in project financing, financial modeling, investment analysis, and macroeconomic assessment of large-scale power, renewable energy, and water projects, with a strong track record in engaging with lenders, advisors, and investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial modeling and scenario analysis for large-scale power, renewable energy, and water projects.
  • Structure and review project financing models, incorporating debt, equity, and hybrid financing mechanisms.
  • Drive engagement with lenders, advisors, banks, and rating agencies to achieve financial close for projects.
  • Support commercial negotiations with offtakers, regulators, and project stakeholders to optimize financing structures.
  • Prepare and review investment memos, risk assessments, and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide deep-dive analysis on economic segments and financial trends within the energy landscape, incorporating insights from Malaysia, ASEAN, and global perspectives.
  • Conduct macroeconomic and policy impact assessments, including :
  • Energy transition and decarbonization policies (e.g., RE auctions, carbon pricing, ESG frameworks).
  • Global fuel price volatility and LNG market dynamics.
  • Financial market trends impacting sukuk / Islamic financing and green finance.
  • Cross-border trade flows, regional energy integration, and foreign investment trends.
  • Coordinate with business development, technical, and legal teams to align project assumptions and risk frameworks.
  • Analyze and evaluate tariff structures, PPA frameworks, and financing terms to ensure project bankability.
  • Support ACWA Power Malaysia's long-term investment roadmap, ensuring alignment with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia–Malaysia strategic partnership

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, CPA, MBA) will be an advantage.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in project finance, preferably in the power, energy, or infrastructure sector.
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling, debt structuring, sukuk / Islamic finance, and equity investment analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of IPP frameworks, PPA structures, project risk allocation, and Malaysian energy financing regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide macroeconomic and financial trend analysis across Malaysia, ASEAN, and global markets.
  • Experience in project management and execution of financing transactions through to financial close.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to liaise effectively with government agencies, banks, and investors.
