You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. The AWS Infrastructure Operation Logistics is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our expanding team. Logistics Specialists reviews Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in the all locations to support build and repair activities.

If you would like to dive deep into the inventory consumption, control and accuracy, we’d like to meet you. Your work will to ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations by being a part of operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities

Logistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving as well as inventory control, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e server lifter).

• Completing manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing and arranging for the shipment of materials, handling incoming shipments, unpack boxes and verify contents
• Load and unload large equipment utilizing pallet jacks
• Maintain accountability of in-stock components as well as receive and process inbound shipments
• Assist with ongoing requests to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained and distributed to all locations to support build and repair activities
• Working with the Logistics Manager, create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory locations and movement.
• Working closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately
• Working with Procurement teams to ensure that inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations.
• Regular and ongoing communications with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements necessitates a high-level communicator.
• Support an environment that operates 24 / 7
• Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers
• Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles
• Handle sensitive / classified client materials
• Work with and / or around moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally work is in an office environment
