2. Scope
The officer shall be a member of the staff of
the Kulliyyah / Centre / Department to which he / she is assigned by the IIUM and the
officer shall perform teaching, examining, and research duties and such other
obligations as are normally required of an academic staff member of the IIUM.
The officer should also undertake moral
and religious obligations in relation to his colleagues and students as part and parcel of
his / her duties as a member of the academic staff of IIUM.
The officer shall attend meetings of IIUM Authorities, Boards and
Committees to which he / she, being an academic staff member, may be appointed as
a member by virtue of the IIUM Constitution or any Statutes or Acts, or of any
administrative actions of the Rector, Dean or Head of the Kulliyyah / Centre /
Department.
The officer is also expected to participate in the general life of
the IIUM community.
The officer is also expected
to advise and guide students in relation to their character, behaviour and
moral conduct. In short, he is not only a teacher (Mu'allim), a scholar ('Alim)
but also a moral educator (Murabbi).
3. Key Responsibilities
a.Design and develop, or update, and deliver teaching
materials to students using a
range of methods and platforms for undergraduate
and postgraduate programmes.
b.Monitor students’
performance and attendance for undergraduate and postgraduate
programmes.
c.Develop,
administer, and grade assessments on students for undergraduate and
postgraduate programmes.
d.Supervise
undergraduate and postgraduate students in clinical attachment, research,
community, and / or laboratory activities.
e.Contribute to the
development / review, planning, and implementation of curriculum for
undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
f.Conduct research
and produce publications or other research outputs.
g.Apply and secure for
research funding support.
h.Establish and
maintain network / collaboration with other institutions, as well as with
industrial, commercial, or public
organizations, for research or professional purposes.
i.Attend
workshops / seminars / conferences for continuous professional development or
improvement.
j.Actively participate
in working groups or committees at the department, Kulliyyah,
university, national, or international
levels.
k.Uphold the
university’s philosophy, vision, mission, and educational goals at all times.
4. Minimum
Qualifications
Candidates
should have : i.Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) in Health Sciences / Medical
Imaging / Diagnostic Imaging / Radiography
or relevant field from any international or local institutions of higher learning
recognised by the
Government or equivalent.
AND
ii.Bachelor’s degree (CGPA 3.5
and above) in Medical Imaging / Diagnostic Imaging / Radiography or
any relevant
field from any international or local institutions of higher learning
recognised by the
Government or equivalent.
OR
i.Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) in Health Sciences / Medical
Imaging / Diagnostic Imaging / Radiography
or relevant field from any
international or local institutions of higher learning recognised by the
Government
or equivalent.
AND
ii.Master’s degree by
coursework (CGPA 3.0 and above) in Medical Imaging / Diagnostic Imaging /
Radiography or any relevant field from any international or local institutions
of higher learning
recognised by the Government or equivalent.
OR
i.Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) in Health Sciences / Medical
Imaging / Diagnostic Imaging / Radiography
or relevant field from any
international or local institutions of higher learning recognised by
the
Government or equivalent.
AND
ii.Master’s degree by research
in Medical Imaging / Diagnostic Imaging / Radiography
or any relevant field from
any international or local institutions of higher learning recognised by
the
Government or equivalent.
Applicants
should be Malaysian citizens
Registered under the Ministry
of Health Malaysia, Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council for Allied
Health Profession (AHP Act ) as a Diagnostic Radiographer
Membership
in any relevant governmental bodies / Non-Governmental Organisation is an
advantage.
Previous
teaching experience, grant applications and published work would be
advantageous.
5. Minimum
Competencies
Ample and suitable experience in teaching general
and core medical imaging subjects.
Ample and suitable experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer / Technologist / CT technologist.
Ample and suitable experience in grant
applications, publications or other research outputs.
Open-minded
and positive attitude.
Good
interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
Has a high
level of motivation, discipline and pleasant personality.
Flexibility,
resilience, and willingness to work long hours.
Good interpersonal,
presentation, and written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work
in a team.
6. Other
Requirements
Experience in medical
imaging curriculum design and review, academic assessment, and program
development would be an advantage.
A Good Clinical Practice
(GCP) certified personnel for research involving human subjects would be an
advantage.
7. Language Qualifications
All candidates
must have obtained : a. Credits in Bahasa
Malaysia and English language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran
Malaysia
(SPM) level OR equivalent qualification recognised by the Government
(for Malaysian citizens).b. IELTS Band 6 /
MUET Band 4.
Candidate without any of these
qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language
Proficiency Test.
