Roles and Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Act as the main point of contact for testing with project managers, business stakeholders, and vendors to clarify requirements and testing needs.
- Lead test planning, design, execution, and defect management for assigned projects.
- Review and approve test cases, test scripts, and test data created by the team.
- Provide hands-on support in test execution, automation, and performance testing if needed.
- Provide regular updates on quality status, risks, defects and issues to project management / stakeholders.
- Manage expectations and obtain signoffs on test deliverables.
- Identify testing-related risks early, escalate critical issues to stakeholders and propose mitigation strategies.
- Coach and mentor test engineers, providing guidance, allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure resource optimization across projects.
- Share domain and testing knowledge within the team to build stronger insurance testing expertise.
- Validate release readiness by performing regression and sanity checks.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of software testing experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role (Test Lead or Test Manager).Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and SDLC / STLC best practices (Software Testing Life Cycle).Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence & etc.)Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced insurance IT environment.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership skills.Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.Familiarity with test automation and performance testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JMeter).Seniority level
