About the Role The position is a hybrid DevOps Automation Engineer role, with responsibilities split evenly (50 / 50) between traditional System Administration and automation engineering. The primary goal is to improve operational efficiency, enhance the company's security posture, and increase scalability through automation tools like Chef, Ansible, and Terraform. Key responsibilities include performing system hardening, managing user lifecycles, and designing automation for repetitive sysadmin and security tasks. You will be expected to build reusable automation playbooks and modules for provisioning, configuration management, and compliance enforcement. The role requires a strong sense of ownership during incidents, with a proactive attitude to identify root causes and collaborate on permanent fixes. About the Team You will be a part of the IT Infrastructure team based in Kuala Lumpur. The role requires close and seamless collaboration with other cross-functional groups, including the Security, DevOps, and Application teams. The team culture emphasizes a proactive attitude and a strong sense of ownership, especially when managing incidents and performing root cause analysis. Effective communication with diverse stakeholders is essential to ensure there are no gaps in execution and to drive initiatives to completion. The team is responsible for documenting findings from incidents and contributing to knowledge bases to prevent future issues. Qualification Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell. Solid understanding of security best practices and system hardening techniques. Experience with CI / CD pipelines and version control using Git. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to take ownership and perform in-depth root cause analysis. Preferred :
