Pricing Specialist – Ocean & Air Freight

Position Overview

The Pricing Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and managing competitive ocean and air freight rates, liaising directly with ocean carriers, co-loaders, and air freight vendors to secure the best solutions for our customers. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and service excellence. The candidate will also manage and respond to network enquiries to support global operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Freight Rate Sourcing
• Obtain and evaluate competitive rates for ocean (FCL & LCL) and air freight shipments.
• Source rates from multiple vendors, including shipping lines, co-loaders, and air freight carriers.
• Maintain an updated database of freight rates, surcharges, and market conditions.
• Vendor Liaison & Negotiation
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with ocean carriers, co-loaders, and air freight providers.
• Negotiate rates, service levels, and contract terms to achieve the best possible value for the company and its customers.
• Monitor vendor performance and address service issues promptly.
• Market Analysis & Reporting
• Monitor industry trends, freight market conditions, and competitor pricing.
• Provide regular rate comparisons, cost analysis, and market intelligence to support business development.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
• Quotation, Enquiries & Support
• Provide accurate, timely, and competitive rates for the sales and customer service teams.
• Attend and respond promptly to network enquiries, ensuring alignment with internal pricing standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between customer needs and vendor capabilities.
• Support the sales team in converting quotations into confirmed business.
