Overview

We are looking for a driven and ambitious Category Manager (Perishable) to join our team at GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd . This full-time role is based in Shah Alam, Selangor and will be responsible for managing and optimizing the perishable product categories within our retail business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends and consumer data to identify opportunities for category growth and development
  • Develop and implement effective category management strategies to drive sales and profitability
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best products, pricing and terms for your categories
  • Collaborate with demand planning, marketing and operations teams to ensure seamless category execution
  • Monitor category performance and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve results
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to the senior management team
  • Manage daily operations for assigned categories
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to optimize product mix and pricing
  • Related tasks / responsibilities assigned

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management or retail buying within the Retail & Consumer Products industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset with a passion for the retail industry
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing or Retail Management
