Job title : Electrical Engineer

Job Type : 1-Year Contract (extendable)

Job Mode : Onsite

Salary : Up to RM10,400 / month

Experience : 8+ yrs exp., MV / HV, testing, commissioning, NEC / NFPA / IEEE, PE / Ir pref.

Eligibility : Malaysian citizens / residents only (no sponsorship)

Primary Skill Set :

  • Electrical system knowledge (Principal and application).
  • Electrical system testing and commissioning
  • Knowledge of Medium Voltage or High voltage systems would be preferable.

In this position, you will be responsible for providing leadership, overseeing, sustaining, improving, and developing a new CS Facilities operations team.
  • Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, being part of our CS Facilities operations team and owning, sustaining, and improving system capacity, operational troubleshooting, system upgrade evaluation, and optimization.
  • Furthermore, you will enhance performance by utilizing statistical process control methodologies, Design of Experiments, and developing procedures for our systems. Provide projects and sustaining electrical engineering support at our facilities.
  • Act as the lead System Owner for the electrical distribution system. Modeling the electrical power system and track changes, troubleshooting electrical system problems, conducting breaker coordination, and conducting arc flash studies.
  • Systematic problem solving, providing electrical load and capacity data Delivering operational efficiency, maintenance, testing and commissioning solutions, driving capital budgets for system upgrades, providing technical leadership to Integrated Facility Management (IFM) and contractors, member of the Emergency Operations Center, responding to power outages, disturbances and leading in the recovery effort, participating on cross site teams such as RDCOC (Regional Data Center Operation Council), site audit, etc. some travel and occasional weekend engineering support will also be required.

  • Reviewing and approving all electrical designs in manufacturing.
  • Effective collaboration with Project Managers and Project Engineers, architects, engineers, and contractors on new construction and renovation projects.
  • Reviewing electrical design specifications, submittals, studies, and drawings.
  • Possessing thorough knowledge of facilities' low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems, including transformers, low voltage substations, MCC, generators, UPS, etc., ability to review cost estimates, budgets, and ROI analysis.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and issues concurrently, possess a good knowledge of the latest NEC code, NFPA 70E, UL 508a, NFPA 79, IEEE-242, and 3rd party electrical inspections.
  • A strong history of leadership and working in a project team environment is essential.
  • Can clearly articulate key messages in a logical fashion within the team, to customers, and to senior management.
  • Thinks strategically, able to communicate a compelling vision for today and the future, and motivates the team toward that vision.
  • Demonstrated leader of operational excellence, including model-based problem solving, appropriate use of metrics, and strong affinity for discipline and cadence.
  • Must have a proven ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and write procedures to support high-performance operations and experience in ensuring high-reliability operations of aging electrical infrastructure.
  • Help maintain the facilities document control system by ensuring electrical as-built drawings are incorporated into the master CAD drawing.
  • Ensure electrical system model is up to date and all construction specifications, as built, O and M manuals, and submittals are received after project close out.
  • Help maintain and organize the document control storage area for fast retrieval of information such as drawings, specifications, manuals, etc. Work closely with Project Engineers, contractors, and engineers on project design and close-out documentation; coordinate and oversee the work of external consultants' CAD support.
  • Provide design and industrial engineering support on projects, organize, set up, and maintain a CAD and document control system.
  • This is a 2-year contract period (1 year, possibility for renewal) for supporting start-up, commissioning activities, operation, and maintenance activities.

    • Job Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with more than 8 years of experience or related field.
  • Experience in Advanced Semiconductor manufacturing environment with emphasis on Low and High voltage power, load flow analysis, electrical system modeling, electrical engineering specification and design, and short circuit calculations, overcurrent device coordination and electrical utility forecasting for large manufacturing facilities, system modeling, electrical engineering specification and design, and short circuit calculations, overcurrent device coordination and electrical utility forecasting for large manufacturing facilities.PE or Ir Registration or competence certification is highly desired.
  • Experience in project coordination and management for electrical projects would be an advantage
